F.A.Q.

“I’ve never hired aerialists before. What do I need to know?”

Hiring aerialists for your event makes an unforgettable impression on your guests. Most people have not seen something like this up close, and they will remember it forever. We will walk you through everything, including setting up a site visit to determine whether your venue is suitable for rigging, and if so, for which sorts of acts. Depending on your budget, we can suggest various options including a number of sets, a number of performers, or a specialty theme such as aerial drink service. Ask us any questions that you have, because our goal is to make you as happy as possible.

“Are aerialists expensive?”

If depends on what you consider expensive. The average aerialist usually costs more than the average ground performer for several reasons. Aerial rigging is what keeps us and your guests safe, and it is included in our quote. Rigging usually requires additional man-hours, additional people, and specialty equipment, both to rig before the show and to take down after all the guests have gone home. In addition, each act requires many hours of rehearsal and sometimes rigging time in aerial studios which does add up. And there’s the fact that aerialists dangle upside down many feet in the air, literally relying on their skill and training to keep them safe and beautiful.

You might be surprised that given all that, aerialists are still affordable for many events. When comparing quotes keep in mind that experienced aerialists may cost more than new performers, and student performers with proper training and the right mentor can sometimes add great value to your aerial package. When booking aerialists, it is not a place to cut corners and we’ll give you lots of options. You will get what you pay for, and be prepared to be wowed when you work with us! Feel free to contact us anytime for a quote.

“Is aerial dangerous?”

It can be, after all the performer is dangling upside down many feet in the air. However, aerialists rely on training and experience to keep them safe in the air. When you hire a professional, you are getting someone with many performances under their belt, someone with insurance to protect you and your guests, and someone who will provide a great spectacle. Prepare to be wowed!

“Do I want a center stage aerial act, or ambient hang-abouts? What does that even mean?”

A center stage act is the most exciting, thrilling option. It usually runs about 5-8 minutes long, is choreographed tightly to music, and is best when you have the guests attention at a certain point in the event, or want to grab their attention before a big presentation or moment. Center stage acts can be performed several times throughout the event.

An ambient hang-about is when the performers hang in their apparatuses, creating beautiful shapes, postures, and movements high above the ground while your guests enjoy the party below. Think of this option as high-end decoration, similar to a living statue, but in the air and moving a bit more. Hang-abouts are great when guests will be milling around or passing through different areas of a party. They can be performed in sets of about 15-20 minutes per performer, in intervals throughout the event.
